It really burns me up that a straight, "gay for pay" guy like Johnny Castle has been voted Men Magazine's Man of the Year by the gay community. Sure he's got a gorgeous body, but don't you think that we're sending out the wrong message to the straight community by doing that? What it says to them is "hey...we want a straight guy to be our Man of the Year because we think straight guys are hotter than any out gay guy out there." Its no wonder we're not taken seriously by the straight community when it comes to the equal rights issue. We're just reaffirming what they've always thought of us...that we're more into lusting after hot straight guys than supporting one of our own. Shame on all of us for making him our Man of the Year. We deserve all the anti-gay sentiment we get.
10:36 - I actually thought of that first at too and wondered when someone might bring it up. But then I started thinking, "Well, technically, is Men magazine really a GAY magazine? Are there ever any man-on-man acts that go down in it? Isn't it all just solos? Are there gay lifestyle pieces written about in there? I don't know. I'm asking.
Come on Jason...we both know it's a GAY magazine. They feature ads for gay porn, gay vacations, gay erotic stories, etc. It's gay, gay,gay. Unfortunately their "Man of The Year" isn't. What is that all about? I'm sick over it. Where are the advocates for the gay rights movement when you need them?
