COLT Sued By Founder
COLT Studio Group founder Jim French is suing the current owners Prowest Media, including COLT president John Rutherford, for failure to pay the remaining $1.24 million of an $2.2 million promissory note issued May 1, 2003, upon the company's sale by French to Prowest.
"As the old saying goes, 'There are two sides to every story.' We regret that Mr. French has chosen to pursue his differences legally where only lawyers will prosper," Rutherford told XBiz today, where the magazine also posted the court filing. "Please know that after nearly 20 years in this business learning from the best, we have every intention of working our differences out."
COLT was founded by French, an industry pioneer in 1967.
Rutherford is also the former president and head of production for Falcon Studios.

Rutherford is a great direcotr. I hope he comes out of this.
Me too! I have heard awful things about Mr French. Models hated working for him saying that he never cared much for "porn" type work anyway. He sues everyone anyway! He's an asshole IMO.
