Falcon Studios' "Longboard"
It is well known from his past directorials (among other things) that Chad Donovan likes twinks who can take the most monstrous cocks up their asses. This may not be the look of Falcon Studios and their movies, but it wasn't about to stop Donovan from bringing his signature touch to the movie Longboard.A surfer boy lover's wet dream come true, box cover stud Derek Brodie slams the living hell out of Jesse Santana's eager hole in the movie's opening romp. The chemistry is off the hook, Donovan's direction is superb and the sex is as good as it gets.
But it's a little downhill from here. Bubble butt bottom boy Ashton Star's scene with the super long dicked surf stud Zackary Ryan should be a twink lovers' delight, but the sex is short lived and it awkwardly becomes a flip-flop in the scene's final seconds. Jorden Michaels romp with Andrew Justice seems equally forced and though Jeremy Hall makes the most of his scene getting verbally dominant and physically agressive with both Dean Monroe and Jason Harley, we've seen Monroe take the kitchen sink up his ass at this time and have grown to expect something a little more stellar, especially in the threesome.
The cast is incredible and the concept is brill, but with Donovan at the wheel of the vehicle, the movies feels like it belongs to a studio most definitely not of Falcon standards.

Very rarely do I disagree with you Jason, but Longboard just SUCKED. Derek Brodie is pretty to look at, but terrible to watch. He doesn't grunt or moan once - he just looks really uncomfortable.
Something is up at Flacon. Their actors seem to have no passion lately, and the sex seems cut for the DVD release - aka "start rimming because here's where we're gonna put the chapter break."
Not to mention the fact that Longboard is missing the most crucial element to a surfer porn - sex on the beach! It looks like they rented some guys' home for the weekend and decided to shoot.
I wanted my money back after buying it. The best part of the movie is the coverart.
As a followup to my previous comment, I'm actually getting really tired of Falcon using straight men in their videos, as if somehow there are a shortage of really hot cock-hungry, nelly-gay boys out there that would actually enjoy themselves during the shoot.
If I wanted to lust over straight men gone wild i'd go visit sean cody - but Falcon should stick to what it knows best.
To Say that Falcon is tired is being too kind. This studio is on Life Support. I do not blame Chad Donavon here look who he has to work with. I have never seen such a group of tired lame men as the current Falcon Stable. And you know what They don't care in 10 years we will look back and Falcon will be the new Catalina living off it's past. What a sad demise for a once great & groundbreaking studio!
I hate to admit it - and there are a few notable exceptions - but I think Cross Country was the moment where Falcon went downhill.
Their glitzy ad campaigns made me wait with breatless anticipation, but what a letdown after the hype. Think of "The Farmers Son" which had the most anticipated moment in porn in years - Jason Adonis' cherry getting popped - and what did we get for our months of waiting? Another dull by the book fuck without any decent muscle shots of Erick Rhodes or Jason Adonis' beautiful bodies.
Before this Falcon was on FIRE - Taking Flight still gets me hard even after about 500 viewings, and Deep South could be a textbook example of how to create believable passion between actors.
And that's what's missing - the believable passion between the actors. I know this sounds cheesy, but I want to believe when I'm watching porn that there's actually an attraction and relationship (however brief) between the people fucking - and they're not just doing it for a paycheque.
I agree that their current crop of stars is lacklustre. They've skewed either too young or too old in their casting. And as fantastic as he is, dragging out old 90's heart throbs who are clearly 15 years older isn't a wise decision
Any other thoughts on the precise moment when things flipped for Falcon?
timbo you hit it right on Taking Flight was the last that truly excited me, Cross country & Velvet Mafia had individual scenes that stand out BUT overall the last 2 years have been one long Snooze at Falcon!

Howard - I think Jim Steel did some of the best Falcon work we've seen in the past few years. I miss his eye over there. It was a really perfect fit. Falcon hasn't been the same without him and he hasn't been the same without Falcon. xo L, J.
