his misfortunes..
i sadly remember seeing him so desperate once behind gold coast in weho looking so strung out and hustling..
so many people used him in so many different ways and they know who they are..
rest in peace joey..

As Tom said, it's really hard to believe that it's been thirteen years... I used to see Joey fairly often when he performed in New York City, and I didn't realize it was that long ago.
So sad the way he died...

At the end of the first visit between DeWayne and I, he gave me a copy of 'Wonder Bread and Ecstasy.' I am also familiar with some of Chi Chi LaRue's responses to that book. Still it was sad. Joey should not have died so young or alone. Neither should have Matt Gunther and so many others of that era. We do not want to see that era repeated.
Jason, this is a great find as tom said. This belongs in a freely accessible place as a public service announcement to all.
