Caleb Carter Is Running Away
Caleb Carter told me today he would be moving to Hawaii in the next 48 hours and would not involved in the porn industry for at least a year, perhaps for good. This move comes on the heels of a disastrous shoot where Carter was to helm a new gay line for Shane's World. Cast members of the shoot this past weekend who wished to remain anonymous said it was "the worst shoot" they had ever been on. They claim to have been "treated poorly" and some even unpaid have contacted attorneys. One such cast member said, "Caleb is fully responsible for everything that went wrong."
The movie was intended to be a gay version of the company's popular straight series, College Invasion and Campus Invasion, but due to difficulties in pre-production, instead of going to an actual frat house, the movie was staged with actors.
Carter was recently thrown out of local nightclub Tigerheat for drunken disorder only a few weeks after announcing he was going into rehab.
He tells me he hopes to start anew in Hawaii.

* EDIT: Caleb clarified for me via IM that the "extras" were not actors, but local military men, college boys... and Ashton Ryan. He also says he's not really retiring now, just semi-retiring. Shane's World loves the work he's done and their next shoot will be in AZ in October. Naturally, he has more to say in his defense too which can be found in the comments section.

Um one........its not my fault the shoot failed. Shanes world has that happen all the time, it just does not work sometimes. Two....christian owen, AKA your anonymous source, is a dumb ass. Three.....the "extras" were not actors....they were random people off of Craigslist and A4A. And last I was not kicked out of Tigerheat....I was kicked out the whores VIP area in the Lounge because I made a comment about how cracked out they all were. I was a VIP guest of the owner of the Lounge and was not kicked out.
And on another note....I am going to Hawaii to take care of my bestfriends wife and new born child while he is away in Iraq. The break from porn is just a perk.

I have never been quiet about my drinking....I make it a point to get drunk and stumble around pretty much anywhere I can. But I have cut back and was NEVER kicked out of anywhere but Mikeys....and that was not for being drunk but giving Brent Corrigan a drink. I don't think they were "nervous". I think they were being smart and using their fucking heads. I wouldn't do anything on film for free. I don't know if YOU, Caleb, have the same standards, but for the majority of people that sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do. Let me say this also: you are a fucking pussy. I have never seen someone burst into tears because something didn't go according to plan. Gee... I wonder why. Maybe it is because most business people have a back up plan. Us actors told you that we could have filmed us back at the hotel. I guess that just wasn't what you wanted. Oh well.. you live you learn, you grow some balls and take your losses. Which you did. Oh wait... you told me in an IM "I didn't get paid, either, Blair. I am in the same boat as Christian and Zack". That was a paraphrase. And I am sure you will deny ever telling me this. But it wouldn't be the first time you lied about something. I was very reluctant about coming to San Diego to shoot this. I asked my manager and gave him all the details. He was nervous about it too but trusted my judgement. I trusted you when you told me that I would get my scene rate guaranteed. I asked you again ,"So, I will go home, indefinately with $xxxx?" You told me yes. Wow. What a lie. Of course I did go home with that, but what would have happened if I wanted to work at the party instead? By the way, don't try and pawn it off as if you got paid and I got paid because we did our jobs. The reason the other two didn't get paid was because they weren't given the chance to do what they came there to do. You know that is not their fault. It is yours. This was the most horrific experience of my life. And I owe it all to Caleb Carter. Have fun in hawaii. Got to rehab. Get help.

Although I wasn't there for this b.s. I think Christian, Blair, Zach ( did i spell your name right) and Ashton were screwed. The shoot failing was not my fault. This sort of thing happens. I told you all from the begining that this was NOT your normal movie shoot and to expect the unexpected. I did the best job I could. Shane's World was disapointed with the outcome but really happy with how hard I worked to try and make it happen.
I could have been a bitch and just left you guys at the motel and to find your own way to the airport...but I didn't.
So please stop blasting me....and Blair...how many times do I have to tell you that my one phone does NOT work....did you try calling the other number?

I was at the party and I must say that I do agree with some of the porn stars in that the out come was not what I expected. When I got the email from Caleb on A4A I though it sounded like a cool idea. We emailed back and forth for a couple of weeks about the shoot and even talked on the phone. I don't see how the shoot failing was Caleb's fault. There was a party, there were Porn stars and there were people at the party. Oh yeah and there was vodka not just beer.
I myself thought that I might even be one guests who would join in. But once I got there and saw the cameras and lights backed out. Caleb kept trying to get the other guests to participate but it was just not happening. He ended up breaking down out back crying into some guys arms which was really sad.
Caleb, I am sorry it didn't work out like you planed. But you can't make people do something they are not comfortable doing. No matter how hard you try.

I was at the party.
I was one of the people Caleb invited.
I can tell you that at NO POINT did he say there would be cameras. Nor did he say there would be ANY expectation for anyone to have sex with the porn stars at the party.
I can also tell you the party was INCREDIBLY late in starting, because, as we were told by the film crew, not enough people were there to start shooting. What was supposed to start at 9 didn't start until 11.
Without spin or hyperbole: it was Caleb's responsibility to get people there, and to make sure ALL of those people were informed as to what was expected prior to their arrival, so they could come prepared to party on camera.
Excuses aside, he failed in those two primary responsibilities. He failed miserably, bottom line.
He can blame whoever he wants, deflect responsibilty and make this about some "feud" he has with the porn stars who showed up, but all that does is detract from the truth: Because Caleb Carter failed to do his job, this shoot failed. Because the shoot failed, people didn't get paid.
Now, I can actually say a few things positive about this.
1. The guy who owned the house and the guys who worked security were very VERY nice. Not at all my type (well, one was crazy hot), but they were very nice guys. In fact, after the shoot was called off, and the film crew took all the beer they brought with them and left (a shitty move, by the way), the guy who owns the house tried his best to make sure everyone still felt welcome. He started serving margaritas (which I guess one of the security guards paid for out of his own pocket), and let people stay in his home for hours. It turned into actually quite a nice party for those who stayed.
2. The porn stars were very nice and really tried to make the shoot work. Granted, they had a financial incentive, but the manner in which they went about trying to make it successful was really very professional and I admired their efforts.
Kyle Foxxx will be unable to make "The Jason Sechrest Show" today so Caleb Carter will be filling in. He will appear live on the show (4 pm - 6 pm PT) to talk about the shoot and give his side of the story.
I will be taking notes from this comments section and reading them, bringing up point by point your contentions to see what he has to say about them.

Fine! I will take 110% full responsibility for the failure of this shoot!!! Just so long as everyone shuts the FUCK up! Does it really even matter? In 2 weeks no one is going to give a shit what the hell happened on set. Why anyone, other then those involved, cares is beyond me. The case in point is that the film failed and nothing could have been done to save it. Shane's World tells me this happens all the time and not to worry. So you know what? I am not going to.....I am going to do is go to Hawaii on a VERY long vacation to take care of a beautiful baby. While everyone else is going to.....well who really cares what they are going to do I'll be in Hawaii!

1. Before Shane's World started using Caleb Carter to orchestrate some "gay" shoots ... they had, once before (long time ago), attempted a gay project. It failed. Biggest reason: NO DIRECTOR! How the hell does a studio, who has NEVER done gay films, attempt one without a "ring leader?" I know … “reality/gonzo” movies are the “in thing.” BUT, look at Falcon … they’re JUST NOW, after 35 years in business … going to begin doing a few “gonzo-type” movies. BUT, I dare say, Falcon has been pretty damn successful with movie production … and the “line” they’re going to use for these “gonzo” project, JOCK, has been a major “winner” for them (hats off to CHI CHI LaRUE for establishing their JOCKS line).
2. When Caleb contacted me about this latest SW project ... and we discussed STONIE for a role in it … he confirmed STONIE for the film ...but, because of my problems the last time, I was real skeptical about the "logistics." AND, when no one contacted me about STONIE'S travel ... and I called Caleb ... he suddenly gave me some silly reasons why his "bosses" didn't want STONIE (after he confirmed him). At that point ... and, after the debacle I went through 2.5 years ago ... I told STONIE ... "just as well ... I bet the whole thing is a mess." That was 3 weeks ago.
I'm sorry the boys who DID agree to do the shoot (the "porn stars") didn't get to have a little bit of the info about my "first" experience with SW ... and, how the STONIE situation was handled. They might have NOT been so quick to agree to do the shoot, even if the money seemed OK.
CALEB: that studio doesn't understand how to produce a gay feature ... gonzo, reality or whatever. They really don’t believe in the old rule: PLAY or PAY. Just because they call things off … that’s NOT a valid reason not to pay folks. On my awful experience (of 2.5 years ago … thank God The Forest Family has a “legal eagle” in NYC, the fabulous, Mark Sendroff, who “straightened” out the SW brass … and got my stars the money they were due).
JASON: Christian wants to make another movie with you? Guess he likes being paid for stuff that might not come out. It helps his pocketbook without adding to his list of movies. He’s almost done as many as STONIE … but, the Owen films have all been in the last 2 months. LOL. Just giving you guys a rough time. You both know I love you. Actually, seriously … I’m very sorry to EVER hear that XXX stars have had a “mishap” with a studio … and the studio temporarily “stiffed” them. ALSO … I have a rule of thumb … NEVER EVER have your booking done via another “porn star” (that includes a “private meeting,” where another “escort” calls you and says he wants you to “join” him and a “client” … always demand that the “client” get on the phone with you and CONFIRM the deal … if the thing fucks up … it’s really hard to collect the $$ from the fellow escort). I was very uncomfortable letting Caleb tell me that STONIE was confirmed for that shoot. I just knew that I should have insisted that his boss contact me. BUT, because of the past problem … I figured it might be better for ME to keep some distance from the folks that might not want to deal with someone who KNEW how “iffy” Shane’s World shoots can be. WELL … now a lot more people know. It’s happened again. The first time, the only screwed up thing was … it happened on an island … far away … that took 3 plane flights and a 3 hour drive through the jungle to get to. You can imagine how the boys felt, when they were told to GO HOME … with no money. AND, on that project … there was NO director. Can you imagine sending boys into the jungle … after 3 taking 3 planes and a 3 hour drive … to do a studio’s VERY FIRST gay film … and NOT have a director? Oh … and 4 of the 5 XXX actors were “straight” … and … 3 of the 5 hadn’t ever done an adult film, ever. No director, studio with NO gay experience, mainly str8 guys trying to do gay stuff … and most having never done ANY previous films. I know, Jason, there was also the small matter of the ONE kid with experience (and not so straight, either) … NOT really being in the mood … after being put in jail the day before he left. AND, he went there with NO “stage props” … so he was totally sober for the first time in months. Coming off drugs … and, under those circumstances … it was just a total train wreck (I figured I better spell it all out .. since, knowing the SS Sechrest, he’d chime in with another reason why it fucked up .. LOL).
