Poll of the Day: Doing Away with Exclusives
What Steve Hirsch began with Ginger Lynn at Vivid several years ago, a concept harkening back to the golden days of Hollywood contract players, is these days a concept lost upon the legal system.
Courts say you can't contractually obligate someone to have any form of sex on or off camera just for you or it is a form of sexual slavery.
COLT is no longer using the word exclusive claiming they all end up working for other companies eventually anyway.
Larry Flynt has announced Hustler will no longer be having any exclusives of any kind!
And what exactly does exclusive mean these days, anyway? Blake Riley is an exclusive to Rascal Video. He is also an exclusive to Randy Blue. Jesse Santana is an exclusive to Jet Set and Cocky Boys. Jarod Steel is an exclusive to Hot Desert Knights, but uses the name Carter Longway with every other company.
Do you think studios should do away with the concept of exclusive rights to the performers of adult entertainment altogether?

I must say...the gay adult industry would suffer immeasurably if there were no Exclusives. Can you see it now...Francois Sagat doing a movie for every single studio over the course of a year...hummm...no studio to capatilize on the name, no single studio to go to to see that models performance...no studio loyalty by fans. With all the studios sharing all models from the get-go the industry just becomes a big dart board...just throw a dart and see x-y-z model at that studio too. If studios go to this they deserve what they get...a big mess.
Jason, no comment on your poll but just an observation. How has Ginger stayed....you know, like she has. Amazing from an amazed admirer. All the best to you and hope for many years more. Thanks, beautiful.
